A huge list of leaked BF4 details reveal 64 player maps, 3 factions, Commander feature, and more.

Battlefield 4 details

We’ve got an exclusive scoop on some Battlefield 4 features. First of all, it looks like the game will stick with 64 players, and overall, the game appears to be very similar to BF3. If the rumors are true, we’ll be getting some extra features though, most notably: the Commander will return and we’ll get a third faction,

Leaked Battlefield 4 details:

This info comes from the same source who was the first to leak the Battlefield 4 artwork / teaser, and who was also spot on about EA releasing a teaser trailer. So we’re pretty confident in this information.

  • Battlefield 4 will stick with 64 players. Maps are larger and more detailed.
  • Three factions: US, Russia, and an unnamed “Eastern/Asian” faction.
  • 4 classes with “additional features and tweaks” compared to BF3
  • Shipping with same amount of maps as BF3, there are plans for lots of DLC.
  • DLC is already in planning stages.
  • Battlefield 4 Premium will be available on day one and include some perks.
  • Most of the guns and vehicles from BF3 will return.
  • More squad features.
  • Commander feature returns, but won’t be the same as in BF2
  • Battlefield 4 is coming out on both current and next gen systems, and PC as well.
  • Game is more of an evolution rather than revolution of the series. Both technically and gameplay wise.
  • Will ship with more game modes than BF3
  • Will ship with more close quarter infantry maps than BF3
  • Frostbite 2 engine is pushed further in BF4. Better effects, higher res textures, more detailed game worlds, etc.
  • BF3 will still be supported after Battlefield 4 launches.
  • There is plan of some sort of integration between BF3 and BF4. Could be Battlelog-only.
  • Battlelog will be updated for Battlefield 4 with more social features and more detailed stats.
  • Single-player and co-op will return, new writers involved this time.

We’ll have to wait and see how things pan out. Battlefield 4 will be unveiled on March 26.

    Battlecopter 4, anyone?
High chance that BF4 will know 24/7 airrape again from OP airvehicles

Haha air vehicles aren’t OP, garbage lock on weapons are OP for pathetic babies that need a bad crutch because they are terrible; knowing how Dice likes to cater to bad scrubs we might as well call it Lockonfield 4

Haha, Lockonfield made me giggle =p
Having some lock-on weapons seems fair to me, but there shouldn’t be any air-to-air and ground-to-ground versions, that is even more so catering to novices.

Bitches whining about air vehicles being easy to take down because they want to do nothing but sit in a fucking chopper and get kills, not play the fucking objective. Sounds legit.

Now thats a deep thought, really. Not!
Last I checked if you fly/use the helicopter right it is a hugh part of playing the objective. Objective doesnt mean camp out. What you state is no different then all the idiots that dont play the objective on the ground either.

Really? It’s the stingers and lock ons that were buffed. It’s so easy to take down choppers. And below radar and stealth don’t even work.

“When flying at low altitudes your heat signature is decreased, hiding you from enemy radar and preventing enemy {air-to-air missile systems} from locking onto you.”

Stingers and Iglas are SAM. Surface to Air.

        Surface. To. Air.

All of these concern me and ill explain why.

“Most of the guns and vehicles from BF3 will return.”
“Commander feature returns, but won’t be the same as in BF2″
“Shipping with same amount of maps as BF3, there are plans for lots of DLC.”
“DLC is already in planning stages.”
“Battlefield 4 Premium will be available on day one and include some perks.”
“4 classes with “additional features and tweaks” compared to BF3″

#1: I don’t want this to be CoD (with no offence) I want brand new weapons or it will feel like the same game (Even if they add more guns). You said its more of a evolution than a revolution which down right scares me with the fact so many “Modern shooters” are out these days. And vehicles you cant really change assuming you are in the same time period in which i heard a rumor the time period would be near future (2020). If that’s true why cant they simply make up their own vehicles or certainly make them the same but different (?) (If that’s their plan then fine)

#2: “Wont be the same” this one really depends on how they change it but i can say that in bf2 we had alot more “Smart” people running around. With bf3 (No offence) Most people cant tell their butt from their face. I don’t want some butt plug being a commander.

#3 #4 #5: I don’t feel as though i should pay for a game without getting my moneys worth and with that being said i don’t feel for as easy they pop out maps that we should get so little in the base game. Give me 4 more maps with the base game and i would be happy. “Lots of dlc” “Already in planning” This goes in line with my first statement in this paragraph, If they already are planning DLC that means they clearly have some time on their hands so why not ship the game with more? Rather than less with more DLC (They want money, obviously). And lots of DLC means lots of money, forcing you to almost have to buy premium if you enjoy the game and assuming its available on day one im gonna be paying alot right out of the start for the game. “With some perks” Okay in what form though? Are we talking exclusive guns and such? If so it adds just another reason to coax you into premium which you Don’t know what you are buying you only know it will be these DLC’s. What if the maps are dreadful? That doesn’t mean premium is right for you it just means you got screwed a little for paying for something you didn’t want. Im kinda rambling but moral of these rumors are they want more and more money Which scares me because i Don’t want to pay so much for games when i already pay 60$. Also micro transactions even if they Don’t “Effect” the game it just adds more things to buy which means more money out of my pocket.

#6: This concerns me because of the unbalanced game-play we had right at the start of the game and other games in the series. More features could be great but i also don’t want this game to turn in to a series with just a bunch of “Camp fire strategies”. Just the other day had a tank with three engineer’s repairing and we couldn’t kill it because of the angle we couldn’t hit the engi’s. The more tweaks and features you add to the base classes the more complicated it gets along with harder to balance.

I guess the moral is i don’t want to pay out of the butt for games they already cost to much, It doesn’t seems its going to change enough to set it self apart from bf3 or the dozens of other modern day shooters, and It seems to be turning into a cash cow with out much change. I look forward to BF:BC3 (Because i find it more realistic and a much less forgiving game) and BF:2143 because it’s diffident than the dozens of “Modern day shooters” With that being said BF:4 is on my radar.

#1: There are only so many weapons and vehicles to put into the game, taking the DLC weapons into account I would say we already got enough weapons, there could be some more vehicles added though.

#3, 4, 5: I also fear that the Battlefield serie is going to be EA’s cashcow. I’m not going to pay 100 dollar/euro at launch for an incomplete game. 9 Maps on release is way too little, seeing the cost of the game.

#6: I sincerely hope that they will reconsider the current class system, Assault is too powerful (score wise) and the Recon class is practically pointless if you’re any bit concerned about winning the round. I would say separating the medic kit and defibrillator seems like a good move, and reintroduce the Medic class (which then has one of those 2 gagdets) and ditching Recon alltogether.

#3 Heck it’s the reason they stalled the MoH license

        March 23rd, 2013 at 10:35 am

#6 in BFBC2 the reason why they made the snipers so weak is they used to come in hordes. Snipers were REALLY POWERFUL!!! and the time for your bullet to hit the other guy was really short and you had little bullet drop.

I would also in addition to these comments to see a actual DARK MAP like where Tac. Flashlights are used other than blinding people i dont like the Intensely blue dark maps that DICE or EA gave us.

I think jets should be a tiny bit easier to kill since they have all that complicated engines. In real life if you get a piece of shrapnel in your engine your engine gets chewed up REALLY bad… And besides if your going over an objective making strafe runs and some one tries to lock on they are gone before you know it…

“This goes in line with my first statement in this paragraph, If they already are planning DLC that means they clearly have some time on their hands so why not ship the game with more? ”

Time costs money. If you want these to be in the base game then the base game will have to cost more.

I hope this feels like a new game and not just a full price DLC with BF4 on it. If their talking about an ‘evolution’ then give us 128 players.

Wait until Battlefield 5, I’m willing to bet they will allow 128p on pc only, with 64 being the default for next-gen consoles, which is totally fine by me seeing as how I’m used to having only 24p matches.

Oh and please don’t give me a lecture on why I need to go build a gaming pc, I don’t want to hear it.

The main thing I’m missing in this list is the removal of suppression… or at least removing the spread and recoil increment portion of the effect.

    • Spiffy Joe
      March 20th, 2013 at 11:46 am

And reducing sun glares somewhat. I don’t mind a bit of glare but sometimes it’s overkill.

Suppression is a cool idea, but I’m with you when you say removal of spread and recoil increase while under suppression.

Personally, I think suppression should be more realistic, eg: character camera shakes while being shot at, and if you reload you have a 20% chance of dropping your magazine.

Lol Id be mad as ever if i dropped my mag like WTF!!!!, suppression was their best idea in bf3

This looks like an expansion pack, except they are charging full game costs for it and telling in advance that we will have to buy DLC with it later.

Maybe the next ‘new’ Battlefield will be a ‘new’ battlefield.

Also, I absolutely hate the modern shooters. There are good reasons to go for either 1943 or 2143.
1943: No lockon missiles, only skill-based weapons.
2143: You can invent all the weapons and balance them according to your needs.

An added advantage is that I might actually buy 1943 or 2143.

I want to follow up on 2 things! First off, do u guys think that ea/dice will confirm 64 players for PS4 of BF4? or they going to make excuses of why they couldnt do it again and will be a problem? and 2nd off, many people keep saying it will be a 2142 sequel in that kind of setting/environment which i hope to god its not! i want to know if it will be the style/setting like BF3? i believe with modern setting or BF3 style, it will be more successful series and more realistic of what battlefield really is and how it should be played!

ps: stop whinning about lock on weapons and op copters…
1)lock on heat seeker weapons are real
2)helis can destroy tanks irl easy.
this is modern war and not WWII war simulator.

5 things I did not like about Battlefield 3

    1. Defibrillators that can revive 10 + downed soldiers in less than 4 sec.
    2. Restocking M320 and frag grenades from ammo crates is very quick resulting in spam + ( ammo crates has to have a capacity ) or even maybe never restock them you have to die 1st
    3. Vehicles with unlimited ammo !! they have to go back to base to resupply
    4. Friendly fire should give -ve score…
    5. Reaching the final rank should be very hard to get and weapons unlock should take a longer time
