Battlefield 4 getting Road To Jalalabad map?
According to our tipster (the same tipster who leaked the details behind the new Frostbite 3 game engine), DICE is working to bring a popular BF2 map to Battlefield 4 in a future DLC. Our source tells us that the maps is a remake of Road To Jalalabad, and is in planning design stages. Of course, developers usually have plenty of multiplayer maps in designing stages, and not all see a final release.
Road To Jalalabad was released as a free BF2 map in 2007 as part of the large 1.4 patch. The map quickly gained popularity and still has a die hard fan base. The map is a dense city offering plenty of urban combat, surrounded by a desert. It’s a large map that offers a bit of everything, similarly to Strike At Karkand in BF2 and Kharg Island in BF3.
So far we haven’t heard much about Battlefield 4’s multiplayer portion, let alone the maps. Plenty of the same maps have been featured in several Battlefield games. Wake Island has been in 5 Battlefield games, and BF3 featured 4 maps from BF2.
Here’s how Road To Jalalabad looked like in BF2. We’ll have to wait and see how it ends up in Battlefield 4.
