Battlefield 4 release date set for October 29

The Battlefield 4 release date is official: the game will launch on October 29 on all current and next gen platforms.

Earlier today, EA announced that Battlefield 4 will be coming to the PC, PS4, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. And now we’ve got the official release date: October 29, 2013. Battlefield 4 will be released on all platforms simultaneously, making it likely the biggest release in the franchise to date.

Furthermore, developer DICE has revealed that Battlefield 4 multiplayer will be showcased at E3 on June 10. No word on what the multiplayer showing will feature, but we really hope it includes some form of Commander mode.

One thing we’re certain: we’ll be seeing Battlefield 4 on the PS4 and Xbox One at E3. Hopefully multiplayer on next gen consoles will be bumped up to 64 players. One of the new features of the Xbox One is that the new Xbox Live cloud can power some aspects of multiplayer, increasing the player size in games.

If lots of the actual multiplayer stuff is in the cloud than hopefully that means they can add mp offline/coop with bots as well without having to sacrifice graphics and power.

Good idea Jesse, I’ve been pondering something like a bot-gameplay mode, it’d be good for mastering the maps and tactics.

Once again bf4central you only talk about things in past battlefield games, wanting commander mode back in some way. Bring me ideas to the game reach out to new players, get them hooked on bf4. New weapons should be brought in like the M6A2-SRT or Vector Kriss, there’s lots of things out there without having to resort to the old bf games.

This site isn’t being run by DICE, man. Its a fansite.

The focus is to bring news, not newbies.

Who mentioned anything about dice, I think you need to read things more carefully and understand what is being written.

The screenshot shows that DICE still does not know how to make the sun’s brightness in line with the real world…
I almost had to put on sunglasses to watch the screenshot.

I have no idea why Battlefield has never had a split screen option. I mean, the entire game franchise is based around the concept of a bunch of four man squads all communicating and working together to PTFO and have fun doing it… DICE, please, split screen isn’t dead, its a ton of fun, its perfect for your fantasized “teamwork”, and I think you would end up with a hugely better final product if you shipped BF4 with Split Screen.
