Tons of new details on the Battlefield 4 Commander feature, including new weapons, tools, gadgets, and more

Battlefield 4 commander tablet
DICE has released a brand new trailer showcasing the new Commander feature. The trailer shows some of what we saw during the multiplayer unveiling earlier today, and elaborates on some of the new additions.

One of the biggest features added to the Battlefield 4 commander is the ability to play on a tablet. Without any need to connect to a PC or console, players can command a team from their iPad, connected to a live game server on a PC or console.

The new weapons include a gunship, artillery, and Tomahawk missiles. The tools and gadgets at a Commander’s disposal include the UAV scan, an EMP strike, supply and vehicle drops, and more.

The Commander feature will be available on both the PC and consoles. Next-gen systems (PS4 and Xbox One) will get 64 player support, making the need for a Commander even greater.

They better have that on the Kindle Fire HD. I’d love to be at Starbucks or McDonald’s and be able to call in an AC-130 or Tomahawk missile a group of enemies.

Are you kidding? This brings a whole new element to the game. Your bogged down in game by a group of tanks and I can be sitting anywhere with free WiFi and drop a tomahawk missile and get you out of that jam!! How awesome is that!!!!!

The iPad is a tablet, but you can also be a commander on the PC or on your console.
