They posted a similar post back on the BF3 blog when Bf3 was about to be released…Its funny how they promote teamwork in BF3, however in my 800 hours of playtime i have NEVER SEEN a full squad work together as DICE would of promised… Even the top BF3 players dont even work together as a team (RivalXfactor, Matimio,Levelcap ETC…)

That’s because of poor communication due to the lack of VOIP, on PC at least. When I play over TS/Mumble with friends is no problem.

Yeah, never my ass. You must not have been paying attention. I see and am in squads working together literally every night i play. Half the games i play the squad im in constantly revives, heals, supplies, each other, we spawn on each other all the time, capping points together, etc etc.

then the top groups have no idea what they’re doing
I’ve been in a well organized clan on xbox live for over a year now, and almost every match we go in we take at least 8 people and play as a combined work force of two or three squads lending each other support and handling selected objectives and tasks within each and every battle, I even do this occasionally with random players when the rest of the clan is offline, sure I don’t get more than two or three people listening and replying, but at least I’ve managed to pull squads together and actually help make a bigger impact on the players on the other team

it’s pretty simple really, get out there, use team chat and draw in players from other squads, make sure to use tactical choices wisely and more people will communicate as a team

you’re an idiot, me and my friends get team work done m8, we get 5x more kills when in teamwork than solo, the reason you haven’t experienced it is because you can’t talk to the other guys or something like that, try play with you’re friends it will be awsome, specially when trying to blow up a tank. one thing we do a lot is riding the jeep haha

I don’t know why people even compare these games, they are not even trying to do the same things.

One is fast paced, small maps, infantry combat where you can go it alone like Rambo.

The other is realistic paced, large maps, infantry, air, vehicle and sea combat focussing on working as a team.

      well said.

No, it’s really not. CoD always claims to be this realistic, shiny near-sim and Battlefield is always overlooked. I’m always happy to see someone give the finger to the franchise that is destroying the FPS genre. (BF3 sucked, so refer to Bad Company 2. That game is better than every Call of Duty that has been made and will ever be made.)

omg they are comparing a realistic military shooter and a boring fast paced shooter, they are trying to work out what the majority of people will enjoy more. I personally enjoy bf3 more than any other shooters. In cod all you do is run around, shoot, get kills, then kill streak then die. In bf3 you can experience what th real soldiers do (well not really close to real experience but gives an idea) you know ride e helicopter, oh and bf3 is so much more fun playing it with you’re friends you know, you feel like a real soleir working tactics of how to blow up that bloody tank or how to take the site with two squads on it. ussually make my friend make a diversion where he ussually dies.

        January 2nd, 2014 at 2:58 pm

If you really think that BF or CoD are realistic, please go get a reality check. No video game can realistically replicate combat. Unless you lose limbs, 1 bullet can kill you, and the sheer noise is replicated. If you ever compare combat to a video games like BF, please think about life.

What is this notion about little kids playing Call of Duty…

‘realistic warfare’ – not really. There is authentic stuff in Battlefield, but none of them are realistic.

    ArmA is realistic, not Battlefield.

These articles are made for the sole purpose of making people say “yeah, Battlefield is so much awesome compared to Call of Duty!” – Stop it already, you are a parody of what you are mocking.

    • cdotcizzle
      July 7th, 2013 at 3:16 pm

Battlefield is way better then call of duty in my opinion, the big reason being the MUCH larger diversity of things to do in battlefield that you will never be able to do in call of duty. I don’t like some of the stuff cod does like some of the kill streak but that doesn’t make it a bad game.

I think they are both good titles and play both, each has its strengths and weaknesses.

I have bashed cod recently but only because they continue to put out games with out putting in truly new stuff in it. Over the mW series there wasn’t much new other then kill streams while bf has been putting in new vehicles, camps that are MUCH more realistically to be used in the real world, etc. I mean, diamond camp, seriously?? But again both are good fun games.

I think you didn’t understand what I tried to say. I love Battlefield, in fact it’s my favorite franchise of all time. It has the games that gave me the most fun in my life. But the direction DICE went with Bf3 didn’t make me happy. And the war between Call of Duty and Battlefield has only been hurting the BF games, not benefiting in any aspect. So before you call me ArmA noob I want you to stop being a pay&defend customer.

Battlefield 4: is in the middle of Simulation and Arcade, thats what i like
Arma III: simulation but is ugly right now
COD: everybody knows is diarrhea (except MW2)

          • warghostmon
            July 24th, 2013 at 8:52 am

IVan..i wouldn’t call ArmA ugly…sure it’s graphics aren’t as technically demanding as bf3,but it tries to bring to the table a more simulated experience compared to CoD and BF.have battlefield-level graphics would probably take away a lot of features, or push PCs with just a little wriggle room to run it too hard.

    • Noesome
      July 7th, 2013 at 7:00 pm

Dude, you have to understand what the word “realistic” means. When you say “realistic”, it’s not supposed to be real, it’s just CLOSE to real.

    • Lag-Switch
      July 7th, 2013 at 7:47 pm

You are correct in that the word authentic should be used rather than realistic. But, I would say that Battlefield is pretty realistic for an FPS title. Of course it doesn’t come close to ArmA in realism… but it does a decent job for a shooter.

Personally, I would put ArmA in the War-sim genre rather than the FPS genre.

I used to play COD and I heard all the talk of Battlefield and I tried it and I haven’t even looked at a COD game in 2 years. Battlefield is more realistic and I have noticed playing COD you come across a lot of kids and Battlefield not so much. COD doesn’t change anything really weapon wise or anything and there isn’t much variety compared to Battlefield. Rating wise I say for COD a 4 and for Battlefield a 9 cause there are some things they could do to make it better.

The sad part about the picture is how old the kids are. These games are rated for Mature audiences, parents shouldn’t even be buying kids these games. my brother is a prime example of it. My little brother has played COD all through his childhood, and it disturbs me because he would rather do that than homework, and even more so that HE STILL CAN’T READ. Now I’m not saying that it has anything to do with the game rating, but it sure as hell would have kept him away from COD.

Putting both games in the same sentence puts bf4 at the same league as cod…thus degrading bf4.
Also, mentioning COD in a bf4 site is the same as advertising for activision. This is called competitive marketing which is the same thing that apple and Samsung did.

If you want to support bf4,don’t talk about cod.

Maybe one day two games will merge into online tag war like cod vs bf where you can choose class from each game and see who’s better. Sounds good?
Maps would be mixtures of both worlds and classes typical for each game. No mini maps or huds. Controlls, guns, vehicles and even killsteaks acording to what side you choose. Etc etc. Cross platform of course.

The reason I strongly dislike the COD series is due to how scrambled it is. When was the last time the our military used throwing knives or tomahawks? When was the last time Russia had access to AC-130 gunships or B-2 bombers? That is what I mean right there. Nations get certain things that they never have used before. Players get the wrong idea of actual combat. COD would have a great series if it would give players the real feel of modern combat instead of cramming 24 people on a boat and giving them access to drones if they kill people. I play Battlefield because it gives you more of a picture of modern combat. Not once does Battlefield give you ballistic knives or axes to use.

I think BF3 is for old no life’s fat people eating food and spending all their time playing games instead of building a social life outside of this world. I met one guy into BF3 and he was a complete low life douche bag. Call of duty is a more relaxed casual game you can just chill and play without too much effort and dedication. Yeah we got those try hard kids that have nothing better to do and ppl that get really good. And the ocational clan. But BF3 to me is a bunch of losers getting together in their moms basement to play against other losers who also don’t have a life and battle it out.

Let’s say they create a Battlefield vs CoD. Each player confined to the game mechanics of their favorite title. Who would rock who? It would be fun to see CoD fans build up kill streak, have to circle around every corner while Battlefield fans destroy everything around and have access to fighter jets, tanks, and other vehicles at the get go.

The two games are different…….I play both, but I don’t think I’m gonna buy another Battlefield for a long time. The multiplayer sucks on it and picking a class is so confusing. The campaign was very fun thought.COD’s multiplayer is very fun and never gets old….with the killstreaks and map packs and such.

I think COD is awesome. Almost as great as battlefield. Reason? It gets us rid of all 11 year old I-don’t-know-what-teamwork-is boys.

There both good games THERE BOTH FPS games so just play cod on one day then play battle field on another day ITS EASY SO DONT FIGHT PLEASE, plus for battlefield i really like the maps my fave battlefield game is bf4 and battle field hardline and for cod i liked cod bo3 and cod bo2 and mw2 i would rate cod 9.5/10 and i would rate battle field 10/10 sorry for arma people never tryed it sorry but is it a good game i might try it and for battlefield even tho it doesnt have that much people [which i hate waiting for a long time to find a match] i dont care really about realstic and graphics all i care about is like a peace game with no tryhards and ragers because THERE SO LOUD IN matchs like omg i go on my mic and say SHUT UP! and for cod ever since i played my first ever cod i ever played [Black ops] it was ok the grapics were ok and then when i tryed mw2 amazing i loved maps and everything about it, then when i got black ops2 i loved the game again like mw2 and then black ops 3 ๐Ÿ™‚ loved it!
