Paracel Island overview

DICE revealed yesterday a brand new Battlefield 4 map called Paracel Storm. The new map is set on a series of small islands, with a ton of air and sea vehicles, and dynamic weather effects as well. The map starts out in sunny conditions, and later changes when a tropical storm washes over it. That’s just one of the many cool features in Paracel Storm.

While the trailer and screenshots of the map showed its great visuals, we didn’t really get a closer look at the layout of the map. We do now, with an overview of Paracel Storm that reveals the 5 capture points scattered over 5 islands, some small, some larger. In addition, both teams have uncapped bases as well. The Chinese (or Russian) forces start on the island, while the US faction starts on an aircraft carrier, much like in Wake Island.

The flags also appear to be relatively close together, while the outside area is vast. Much like Caspian Border and many other BF3 maps.

Be sure to also watch the awesome multiplayer trailer featuring Paracel Storm.

US vs CN in the trailer was a glitch, considering the Russian PAK FA was going against the Chinese J-20. The livestream is showing RU vs. CN.

And any faction can spawn on the carrier and any faction can spawn on the island, remember “Dynamic factions”?

Well I rewatched the official trailer, the US faction was present (Venom helicopter, AH-6J Little Bird, US soldiers on boats) but they were indeed flying the PAK FA. The ticket counter was not glitched as I originally thought.

Maybe DICE is keeping the US factions air superiority jet a secret?

I just realized they have the SU-50 on the Russian side and J-20 on the Chinese side.. if they stick with F-35 or F-18 instead of the F-22 for the american side I’ll be the sadest panda ever. Can’t have two of the most amazing fighters in existance and then not give the US side the last and most impressive one of all.

Uncapped spawn points? So are we going back to the old days of Battlefield where if you don’t have any captures you automatically lose? Good! Now you can’t be as laid back when you’re losing objectives. Not to mention it is an extra 2 flags on the map.

wth why EA gets Paracel into the game? it has nothing relating to us, china or russia. it definitely belongs to Vietnam, check it before releasing. Dont try to ignore truth to draw more ppl from other country to play game. bullshjt

Paracel Islands belong to Vietnam, but, that only on Vietnamese history ( or geographic ) books. You should read Chinese history ( or geogaphic ) books. By searching, I know Paracel islands that administered by China, China also has built an airstrip on one of the islands. And China has occupied the Paracel Islands since 1974, when its troops seized a South Vietnamese garrison occupying the western islands, after of approval of North Vietnamese.

I have no intention of making this a deeper territorial talk but u make me laugh hard. Dont just read Chinese books or google “Chinese history” after 1974, nothing new, read more books before that time. you know anything about the island before 1974 before Chinese occupied them?
