A closer look at the Battlefield 4 geo leaderboards
DICE has released a high-re sscreenshot showing the new Battlefield 4 geographical leaderboards feature. First spotted in the Battlelog trailer, the geo-based leaderboards give players a whole new way of comparing their stats with friends and other players.
Players will be able to compare their Battlefield 4 stats with those in the nearby area. Of course, this uses location data, and DICE has confirmed that players can turn this feature off if wanted. Players can compare themselves to others in a variety of Battlefield 4 categories. For example, they can compare the best Assault class players in their neighborhood, or who has most kills with the M416 rifle in their city. Or country. Or the whole world. There are plenty of options to choose from.
The new location-based Battlefield 4 leaderboards are an interesting feature that we’re sure many gamers will appreciate. So far Battlelog hasn’t offered anything like this, and in order to get detailed world rankings, players usually had to go to third party stats sites. This time, it looks like DICE is making extra effort to satisfy the stats junkies in Battlefield 4 (and we’re sure there will be plenty of those — including us).
It’s unknown if the new leaderboard feature is limited to Battlefield 4 or whether it will be added later to BF3. Check out the new leaderboard screenshot released by DICE below.
