Battlefield 4 beta is 64-bit only, pre-loads on September 28

The beta will be for 64-bit PCs only. Pre-loading on Origin starts on September 28.

Battlefield 4 Beta is 64 bit only
DICE has confirmed that the PC version of the upcoming Battlefield 4 beta will be 64-bit only. This marks the first time (as far as we know) a major game or software product goes 64-bit only, which is actually a good thing. 64-bit allows for better performance across the board.

The official Battlefield 4 system requirements list minimum of 4 GB of RAM, which now makes sense with the 64-bit requirement. However, the official system specs also list 32-bit as minimum requirement for the OS. Honestly, we hope the game just goes 64-bit only across the board.

Earlier today, EA announced that players will be able to start pre-loading the Battlefield 4 beta on September 28 on Origin. The beta starts on October 1st for those who have pre-ordered Battlefield 4 or have BF3 Premium. The open beta starts on October 4th, and runs until October 15th.

Where and when did EA state about the BF4 Beta preload ? I saw the pre-load time weeks ago on Origin but then it got taken off so the date might change.

I also don’t see them stating anywhere that the beta will be for 64-bit PCs only. Give us a source. Something official.

This is good news, most gamers should be using Win 7 64 bit at a minimum by now anyway with at least 8gb of ram.

i don’t mean to be the noob here but, when it says “pre-load” does that mean that i can download the BETA on the 28 and then play it on the 1 of October???
if that is the case then i am really happy with their decision because i will not be able to download it on the 1st.
*i came into the BF series this year….. any help people ??? (i’m a colonel 20)

Yeah, you download it a few days before you are able to play it. It spreads the download load on Origin over a few days. Means less crashes and failed downloads.

You can count that owners of bf3 premium and pre orders at origin for BF4 premium or deluxe version will be able to play the early Beta. The early Beta start one of these day. The open beta start 1-10-2013. This one is open for everyone.

64-Bit is confirmed via Twitter. Pre-load is available by origin, if you’re eligible for the exclusive beta.

No, you can run the full game but the beta is limited to those running a 64-bit operating system.

where do you go for the pre-download? I bought BF4 from origin but I don’t see anything that lets me pre-download it.

Awesome, so we spend 60 dollars for the game, most of us ALSO spending the 50 dollars for premium just for EA to take a shit on us. Awesome.
