New Battlefield 4 beta info video

New video reveals some final beta details

EA has released a new, albeit short video on the upcoming Battlefield 4 beta. It’s taken from an interview with DICE producer Patrick Bach, who sets the record straight on the beta information. The beta officially starts on October 4th, but those who have pre-ordered and BF3 Premium will get a 3 day head start (on October 1). The beta ends on October 15th. The beta will be available on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

As we already know, the beta will include one map, Siege of Shanghai, and two game modes, Conquest and Domination. Bach adds that the beta is for players to try out the game, and for DICE to collect feedback and test the game, which is of course the whole point of a beta.

Bach also adds that Battlefield 4 patches and updates will be easier to roll out compared to BF3, which is the result of some of the behind the scenes work they’ve done to BF4 and the new Frostbite game engine.

Sharing is caring!

I hope this game is polished- BF3 took 6 months before it played well and balanced

BF3 still is not balanced. At all.
The medic class is totally overpowered and far too usefull, jets are god tier, and there are a lot of useless weapons.

I honestly, think that Battlefield 3 is a LOT more balanced now, than it was a year ago.
With that being said, yes of course you are still going to find things to nag about in the game, that would constitute as “over powered”.
That’s just the nature of games, especially multiplayer oriented ones.
There is no such thing as the holy grail of perfect games, even the ones that strive the most will have something inherently wrong in them.
And that last bit you said about most weapons being useless, that is the largest understatement I’ve heard yet.
I can get kills with ANY weapon in the game, and none of them feel like I’m having to take a thousand bullets or rockets to kill anything.
I honestly think you need to play more multiplayer FPS’s and this game before you write things as stupid as that.

Please don’t start nerfing the good weapons right away, hated when they nerfed the usas with frag rounds from all the whiners. I had over 5000 kills with it, now its useless. They will probably do the same with the MG32 6 round auto nade launcher I’m sure, noobs will be a crying over that one. Also the 5 round volley remote mortar strike and the m82 semi auto barret 50. Probably already on the list to nerf. Just leave it alone EA/Dice.

No, *you* are in America. The rest of the internet isn’t.

DICE is Swedish and this video is rated for Europe, where it comes from.

I’m sure you’ll get regional ratings for your part of the world when the game is released.

PLEASE, PLEASE DICE/EA…. allow players to DL the beta a few days before to keep server lag problems to a minimum. When everyone tried to DL the bf3 beta….. it took foooooorrrreeevvvvveeer.

It would be nice and sensible from our perspective, but with the GTA V pre-load on the PS3 being hacked and content leaked, EA will probably decide not to green-light pre-loading for fear of something similar happening to them.
After all, better a “Sim City” style launch than someone leaking the “plot” of BF4!!!

If it feels like every developer says the same thing about their latest multiplayer game, “With our new game/engine we can update easier/faster than before. Blah blah blah.” Game comes out, and it’s a lie or another exaggeration at best.

Maybe next gen consoles will get updates faster because developers won’t have to pay for updates like this gen & background updating might help in server lag from down loads on servers.
