New Battlefield 4 video shows some real-life destruction
EA Germany posted an interesting Battlefield 4 video teaser. This time, there’s no gameplay involved, it’s pure PR. To show the new destruction and “levolution” in Battlefield 4, some Germans take down an entire building, making it collapse as the tower we’ve seen in Siege of Shanghai. Basically, they load the explosives on one side, so that the tower (with a nice “Frostbite 3” logo painted on it) collapses in the same manner the much lager tower does in the game. It does feel like a cheap PR trick, but it’s still kinda cool — its got stuff blowing up, and a building collapsing.
Battlefield 4 will feature enhanced destruction that’s more in line with Bad Company 2 rather than BF3, DICE has confirmed. Furthermore, the new “Levolution” feature will add a semi-scripted large scale destruction to maps, such as the collapsing tower in Siege of Shanghai, or a warship slamming into land in Paracel Storm. Other maps will see a dam burst and flood an area on the map.
