Battlefield 4 pre-load begins, game requires 24 GB
Battlefield 4 launches in just three days, and EA has opened up for pre-load of the PC version on Origin. Everyone who pre-ordered the game can now begin to download it on Origin, provided they have the required 24 GB of free disk space. This isn’t too far from BF3, which took up 20 GB when it launched in 2011.
Right now the Battlefield 4 pre-load appears to be for North America only. EA has said that some players will be able to pre-load earlier, while all players will be able to pre-load at least 24 hours before launch.
Pre-load means that you can download the game and have everything set up and ready, but won’t be able to actually play until it launches.
Battlefield 4 release schedule
Battlefield 4 launches on October 29 in North America, and will hit the other territories soon after. Here’s the complete Battlefield 4 release schedule, as confirmed by EA:
- North America, Russia, East/Central Asia: October 29
- European Union, Australia, New Zealand: October 31
- United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal: November 1
- Japan: November 7
As mentioned earlier, pre-load will be available at least 24 hours before launch in every territory. If you have pre-ordered the game, log into Origin over the next couple of days and check whether you can pre-load or not — most gamers will be able to pre-load today or tomorrow, regardless of their territory.
