Battlefield 4 singleplayer story trailer

Brand new trailer shows us glimpses of the singleplayer campaign we haven't seen before.

Yesterday DICE released a new Battlefield 4 multiplayer trailer, which showed us new glimpses of some of the new maps and features in the game. Today, they’ve released the singleplayer story trailer, which shows us much more than we’ve seen so far. Of course, we only see it in brief glimpses, which is the norm with trailers these days.

While the trailer is very well done and extremely cinematic, it is somewhat melodramatic and seems to feature every movie/video game cliche we’ve seen over the past decade. Nevertheless, if you’re the kind of guy who enjoys the singleplayer campaign, the Battlefield 4 one looks like it hits all the right marks.

Be sure to check out some in-depth singleplayer campaign details we’ve posted before. Battlefield 4 launches in just one week, on October 29.

I’m really happy they have included a female in the cast, its about time. Lets hope she isn’t stereotyped into oblivion though.

Ha! You’re right. I expected a few cheesy lines here and there but wow… this looks like an intentional montage of all the war movie clichés in one. To the point where it’s just a bit comical.
EA have the money, why don’t they hire some talented screenwriters.
It looks like the marketing guys at the office had a crack at writing a few lines of dialogue themselves.
Let me guess, it all started out as a routine mission…

Oh, and there’s one soldier with a photo of his wife n kids too? Yeah, he dies.

What BF3 single player was missing was time to get to know the characters. One of my favorite games Brothers in Arms:Road to Hill 30 did this by having a minute or 2 of character interaction before each mission started.

It looks like BF4 have a place to be grounded- that aircraft carrier. Hopefully they will do a bit better in that regard.

Oh yeah. It’s “COD’s” German Shepard. Not just a German Shepard, but a COD GERMAN SHEPARD! Some people just have to bash COD or make a reference to it any chance they get don’t they? I’ve been reading the same comments now for about 3 years. It’s gets a little stale after awhile.

It’s not the little cliches like photos or leaving no man behind that matter. That kinda stuff is in everything, and saying that it makes the entire campaign stupid and talent-less is absurd.

On the other hand, the story that’s hinted at here is actually rather interesting, and I’m much more excited about this than hunting down a terrorist (CoD4, MW2, MW3, BO, BO2, BF3, MoH, etc. ad nauseam)

Don’t know much about the story, but based on the trailer it does look a little B-movie. But the fact that it feels like a movie at all is a testament to just how beautiful the game looks.

Quite a big part of story mode is the story. Just sayin’.

I’m sure the gameplay is awesome. Can’t wait.
