Second Assault DLC available on day one on Xbox One

Xbox One owners of Battlefield 4 will get to download the expansion when the console launches.

EA is in a partnership of sorts with Microsoft to offer the upcoming Battlefield 4 DLC Second Assault on the Xbox One earlier than on other platforms. The DLC will be available for download when the console launches on November 22, while PC gamers and other console platforms will have to wait until later, likely December.

EA first announced the deal back at E3, and now it’s confirmed that Xbox One owners of Battlefield 4 will be getting early access — as soon as the console launches. The Second Assault DLC includes BF3 maps remade for Battlefield 4. The maps are fan favorites; Operation Metro, Operation Firestorm, Caspian Border, and Gulf of Oman.

Battlefield 4 will be getting a total of 5 DLC packs. The next expansion after Second Assault will be China Rising, which will include four new maps remade from the older games in the series, such as BF2.

Timed exclusivity is nothing new on consoles. With BF3, Sony and EA struck a deal to provide all BF3 DLC two weeks earlier on the PlayStation 3. Second Assault will be free to owners of Premium, otherwise it’s expected to retail at $15 like previous expansion packs.

Mmm… China rising and BF2 sounds interesting. Hope for Dragon Valley and Dalian plant.

YES! i’d love those two maps! I wish they were in the back to karkand map selection as well.
But love to see them with China Rising. I thought Dragon Valley was the most popular BF2 map, and surprised not to see them in at least BF3

‘The next expansion after Second Assault will be China Rising, which will include four new maps remade from the older games in the series, such as BF2.’
Totally wrong China Rising will be maps on the Chinees mainland not maps from older Battlefield Games

Actually there were some roomers. They said that some of China rising maps could be remakes of BF2 maps. But we don’t know exactly.

That sucks, BF is dying slowly. DICE is making really bad decisions with BF4. First they make really bad decisions with the game is self. Then they added battle packs, micro transactions, They they’re choosing a worse console than the PS4.

We have no idea what the full game will be like. These new additions may not change much, if anything if things are balancef and tweaked accordingly.
Also, the Xbox One isn’t the “worse” console.
The only reason why the Playstation 4 doesn’t get it first, is because Microsoft has the bigger money pool to throw at EA.
All these exsclusive DLC deals for any platform, only happens for those that pay the most.
So don’t feel bad! We’ll get the maps soon enough.

XBone is getting the same treatment that Sony got with BF3: 2 weeks early access to DLC over the other platform.

PS3 got 2 weeks early access to BF3 DLC.

XBONE gets 2 weeks early access to BF4 DLC.

    PS4 BF4 comes out 2 weeks before XBONE BF4.

so…PS4 will be getting their DLC the same time as XBONE.

no advantage to owning a XBONE. Sorry guys, but you fell for it.

Actually this report says it may be December before ps4 gets the second strike dlc. Which is good, I don’t want bf3 maps so soon!

um I think your calendar is wrong. The PS4 come out November 15 in the U.S. and the Xbox One comes out November 22. If I doez mathz correctly that’s 7 days not 14. Plus it says earlier access on Xbox One which means the time frame starts on the release of X1 not the PS4s’ release date.

I am not really into this major titles and there remakes. if it’s part of a free and/or cheap dlc that’s all cool, but we are now spending almost 4-700 on these console and the best you can do is put out remakes instead of Fresh maps pack for these dlc. if you really think about it your playing an enhance old map with additional content in it.
Are we as an consumer really overhyping these vintage dlc or has these titles really found out better ways to sucker more money out of us

I love how your name is “Speaking the Truth”, when in reality, you are not.
You are stating your opinions as fact, and that is one of the worst offenses you can commit as a member of the gaming community.
Some people, believe it or not, actually LIKE map remakes, hell even I like them most of the time, because even seeing it in a new perspective is like a shiny new paint job.
So no, no one is getting “ripped off”.
If you don’t like remake map packs, than don’t buy it!
Buy the expansions that offer new, different maps, no one is forcing you to get these map packs if you don’t want them.
      So don’t complain.

That is OK, I don’t want to play 2 year old battlefield 3 maps THE FIRST DAY on battlefield 4 on next gen consoles. How about playing brand new battlefield 4 maps? I’m glad it is for the shit box one only.

Anyone else notice that they only ever mention “Second Assault DLC” is coming first to XBone, not ALL DLC like it was with BF3 on PS3?

I’m wondering it this is basically the only DLC that Xbone is getting early.

because ms bribed ea with huge money cash just to make this dlc at x1 first .
