Microsoft again uses Battlefield 4 PC footage in Xbox One promo

17
Once again, Microsoft is caught using PC footage for an Xbox One promo of the game.

Microsoft has apparently once again used PC footage of Battlefield 4 and tried to pass it on as actual Xbox One gameplay footage. Microsoft recently sponsored a Battlefield 4 event where players from the US and Europe competed on Xbox One consoles, and the promo video featured Xbox One footage (notice the “Backspace” button in the top right corner — 50+ sec in).

This isn’t the first time Microsoft has done this. During the E3 press conference in June, the Xbox One stage demo crashed and DICE used the PC version as a backup.

Then at the PAX event a few months ago, players thought they were playing the actual Xbox One version of the game. But it was just Xbox One controllers that were hooked up to PCs hidden away.

It’s surprising that Microsoft still uses PC footage of Battlefield 4 for promotional purposes, when we know that the game runs pretty well on Xbox One — check out a recent video here. At least, we think it’s running on the Xbox One…

Battlefield 4 will be an Xbox One launch title when the console is released on November 22 in North America.

Sharing is caring!

It’s truly pathetic how low M$ can sink. Their E3 presentation sucked, they completely butchered Windows, not to mention all the controversies around the XBone and they STILL haven’t learned from their mistakes.

One would expect a contest held on the XBone to use actual XBone footage instead of PC/PS3/etc.

I’m sick of people who hate xbox for no real reason and just make crap tons of ‘anti microsoft’ and ‘sony/PC elitist’ articles

Are you serious guys? Xbox is using the footage because there isn’t any other footage to use. People will find any excuse to insult Microsoft nowadays.

    @ Jebus
Watch the videos. There are some xbox one videos that show BF4 in game footage, but show it’s running on xbox. But look closer….. Oh wow keyboard keys for toggling flashlight/scopes/laser. When was the last time an xbox remote had the [V] and [T] for buttons ?

Come again, with your shallow comment ?

This is clearly an MICROSOFT XBOX marketing advertisement, with both teams being led by MICROSOFT XBOX employees, Major Nelson and AceyBongos for the US and EU respectively, clearly stating that the game will be played on the MICROSOFT XBOX ONE at the tournament…. and yet they showed PC footage.

There isnt any other footage to be used? Search youtube. You can find plenty of footage from PS4, why didnt they use that?

They are literally admitting that XB1 is inferior and they dont want to show how bad it looks.

Not to mention just another instance of Microsoft thinking that the consumer wouldnt notice details and tried to dupe us.
