New Battlefield 4 server update rolled out
DICE has rolled out a new Battlefield 4 server update (R30) that tweaks the new AA mine. Players will not be able to pick up deployed AA mines, and from now on, AA mines cannot be equipped with rocket launchers — eg a player cannot equip the AA mines and the Stinger / Igla at the same time.
DICE found this to be too overpowering against aircraft, as players can already deploy two AA mines. Each of the AA mines fire one rocket, and it takes two rockets to disable an aircraft.
Another issue the patch fixes is the double Javelin rocket glitch, where players could have two Javelin projectiles in the air at the same time.
Besides those three fixes, the server patch doesn’t include any further updates. The update has already been rolled out across most servers, so there shouldn’t be any further interruption.
To see the kind of effect the new AA mines had when used with an AA rocket launcher, check out the video below. We’re not surprised some players thought it was overpowered.
