New Naval Strike details + map overviews revealed

The upcoming Battlefield 4 expansion, Naval Strike, brings four brand new maps, each featuring a naval warfare setting. And DICE has just revealed a bunch of new details about the maps, about Levolution, and other features of Naval Strike.

As expected, each of the four new maps is based around water and islands, as shown below with the satellite overviews of the maps. The four maps are Operation Mortar, Wave Breaker, Nansha Strike, and Lost Islands.

As DICE explains in a new blog post, the focus of Naval Strike is to make a wide variation of maps that appeal to both infantry combat, naval and vehicle combat as well. As for Levolution, players will be able to close flood doors to stop naval vehicles from entering a large submarine base. Weather will also play an important part in Naval Strike, with different kinds of weather — for example, the Operation Mortar map will start at dawn, and then the sun will gradually rise and it will become day during the match.

You can read more about DICE’s thoughts on Naval Strike here. The Naval Strike expansion also brings the new Carrier Assault game mode, and several new weapons and gadgets. Among the new weapons are the AR160 assault rifle, the SR338 sniper rifle, and the 3GL grenade launcher.

    My gosh, increase the freaking tickrate, 10hz is WAY TOO LOW, it should be ATLEAST 60hz, a mandatory minimum of 30hz, and 100+ for anything competetive. —-Please increase the tickrate before pushing more product—- China Rising still has it’s leveloution STRIPPED AND REMOVED from it (Sold us a faulty product since BF4 advertises “Leveloution” and an ENTIRE DLC has no “Leveloution”) Your pushed products and DLC’s are heavily incomplete, filled with issues, and instead of fixing them, you move ahead asif nothing is wrong, because you won’t get a lawsuit…. —Please increase the Tickrate—- It’s the entire CORE of the game and it’s not working correctly, add that atop the unfinished DLC’s and this game shouldn’t be on shelves…. We deserve a tickrate that functions correctly

      Do you even know what tickrate is and if they increase it is possible game will have huge lagg?

      Levelution is a cheap gimmick that’s nothing like the destruction and offers no where near the diversity that destruction did in BFBC2 or even 3.

      It’s on par with cod maps. A pre planned, always the sane scripted event.

      It’s cheesy. It’s gimmicky. They should have never bothered with it.

      Destruction 2.0 please.

    I can see people nade spamming with the 3 round 3GL using support class with constant ammo. Ugh.

      I have already unlocked this weapon, and It is not OP. the grenades do less damage than the HE grenades. Also you have to be more accurate with aiming to get the kill, not just shooting in proximity.

      That’s what I was thinking! Seems weak enough though. Might need a little tweaking in the future.

    kill cam is broken, and netcode is not fixed yet.

    But hey.. at least they’ve made their maps easier to make. Just fill about 80% of the map with water so their map makers have less work to do – and there’s less chance of them f*cking things up (eg: invisible walls, out of bounds areas too close to pathways, choke points that all lead to the same area, no flanking routes, etc.)

    I can see the f***-ing camper snipers on the rocks and the surrounding islands of Operation Mortar….

      Ah shut up‼️ what do you think sniping is about? Run and gun?? Part of the game so no need to complain about snipers maybe you just suck and need to find COVER. Lol have a nice day

        I don’t understand the problem with snipers. They give you something to think about and you need to structure your assault, which is what battlefield is about. You also have to practise a lot to hit moving targets.
