Wow, EA proved once again why they’re regarded as scum of the earth. I hope you’re looking forward to getting voted Worst Company In America for a 3rd time, you greedy sons of bitches!

And your comment leaves no room to wonder how immature and blind the Battlefield community is. Keep paying, EA needs more money.

You can’t buy battle packs with money. You get some through premium which costs money but would probably cost exactly the same even if battle packs didn’t exist and you don’t even really get that many (1 a month)

in ME3 you can earn the credits to unlock the spectre pack during regular gameplay
and it doesn’t make the whole microtransaction thing less stinking

Remember when on EA games if you didn’t have a code you couldn’t advance past level 5 on online multiplayer? That’s why EA sucks. Then they found out they were losing money from people who rent and buy used games and that went away.

Google “EA Online Passes”. It was a stab at trying to gouge money from used game owners and renters. EA dropped the program when they lost online players.

DICE have already stated that battlepacks don’t give any advantages during gameplay. They are simply there to give players more customization options.

Getting bonus experience points is a form of advantage. However, it is not a direct form of advantage – can you seriously believe a scope will make you dominate an entire field? Microtransaction is a developing theme in all games, its here to stay, stop blaming EA.

It amazes me that some people don’t understand that you get battlepacks for ranking up and if you have extra money lying around you can purchase them. I like this idea if COD ghosts had something like this i’d buy some, and for a Company to make a little extra money this is smart there not forcing you too. If COD fanboys don’t like it then go camp in a corner and wait for a kill lol jk i love bf4 and COD

Their battlepack idea came from their other game mass effect where you get them by getting credits in game to unlock them or buy buying them if u want. EA isn’t greedy their just giving you the option to use real money if you don’t feel like trying to earn them or if you just want to get items right as you start off.

    October 31st, 2013 at 4:54 am

If you need a scope to do well on the leaderboards then you are clearly lacking in skill. I imagine the battlepack scopes will be quirky ones that players can CHOOSE if they like or not. Realistically once you unlock a red dot sight (which is probably one of the first unlocks) then you have no excuse of being worse off than anybody else.

I preordered premium so I’m looking forward to my packs, if you don’t want them don’t buy them.

It is nice that they have these.. They include things like double xp for an hour too. So after you complete assignments you have more incentives to keep playing. But for people without the dough it is frustrating that you can buy all of the upgrades and start crushing people early. I would think that earning upgrades and unlocks is half the fun?

    Hi,

do I unlock customization for all my already unlocked weapons or can I get things for weapons I may never get because I don’t play that class?

I don’t wanna unlock all my battlepacks only to get things for my few starting weapons.

As the saying goes, “When something online is free, you are not the client, you are the product”.

I have already bought BF4 but not the premium thing nor Battlepacks. Does that make me a half-product, 25% of a product ? That microtransactions system is really nasty.

The battle pack attachments have the exact same stats as the non battle pack ones; they only look different.

  18. Boon
    November 10th, 2013 at 3:18 pm

Battle packs are over rated. You get scopes for guns you dont have or use and emblems you can use unless you use battlelog. OVER RATED and when you get to 50 you get a gold 1 every time you rank up l dont even get excited when l unlock them anymore

  19. John
    November 10th, 2013 at 3:51 pm

After unlocking all non battle pack attachments for a gun you unlock weapon specialized battle packs. The weapon battle packs contain 3 to 4 attachments for that weapon.

Why is there so much heat between the Battlefield community and the COD community, they are compleatly different types of games. COD is a single player game in a multiplayer environment. Meaning its just a bunch of guys running and gunning, a twitch fight, they guys with the fastest reflexes generally win encounters. Battlefield is a true multiplayer game, sure you can run around solo but you don’t get 1/10th of the in game experience you do playing with a well organized, well lead crew. In my opinion this is where battlefield really shines, when tams are using combined arms tactics to dominate a map. COD is a fine series but it caters to the solo player types who just want to do there own thing. Battlefield caters to the more cerebral types who prefer to play team orientated games that require thinking, strategy, and puzzle solving. It explains why COD fanboys hate battlefield so much, soloing in multiplayer it is so easy to get lost with what is happening on the map, and without working with other players it is hard to be successful in b

I completely agree with your comment and it is probably the most thought out and mature comment on the board, especially compared to “Bob”s.

  21. Mike
    November 11th, 2013 at 7:26 pm

In all seriousness, why must these comments lash out at people or even entire groups of people? Is it not possible to have a mature conversation without being ridiculously offensive? I think it is absurd that any time I would like information on a given topic, such as what these Battlepacks are or what they do, I must slog through pathetic comments about having sexual intercourse with the mothers and sisters of real people, and others making accusations regarding the sexual orientation of certain parties, simply to find out what others know of the topic I am researching. I cannot imagine I am the only one who feels this way. Do the world a favor and discontinue these awful forum quarrels. It’s simply not right to act in such a way.

They did not SAY that Battlepacks had to be bought. You can acquire them in game. Sort of like TF2. It isn’t pay to win since you don’t necessarily need to pay for it. COD kids find the smallest little thing to get at BF4 just because it’s better.

  23. Anthony
    November 16th, 2013 at 9:56 am

If you can unlock them by ranking up , how do I unlock the ones that say, “unlocked via battle pack” ? I’m lvl 18 and would’ve thought to have unlocked all my attachemnts for the first assault rifle by now. I have like 3 service stars for it.

You need to get a Weapon Battlepack, which requires a certain amount of kills, it shouldn’t take you long.

  24. Dude Guy Person
    November 16th, 2013 at 6:17 pm

It’s easy, i figured it out a little while ago. While in the middle of a match, press Start, and in the pause menu press square (PS3) (On the bottom portion of the screen it should say “Boosts” and then a button to push, like how it”ll say “Select” and X), then click a boost.

    November 24th, 2013 at 5:44 pm

Wait,so in a battle pack you can only get one thing that you choose from?I am getting the game later on so i just wanted to check the new stuff out

    • DANNY
      December 10th, 2013 at 1:32 am

No, you get all 3,4, or more items depending on what grade of battle pack you get IE gold, silver or bronze. You will get different items for different classes and guns ect it is not just suited to whatever class you are using. On top of this you also get battle packs for guns which you begin to get about roughly 210 kills with a weapon. These battle packs are for that gun only so all 3 items will be for that gun but in part due to the amount of camo in the game you are likely to get 1 camo in every 2 and also every battle pack will have a exp booster so you loose a slot there too so for some packs you might only get 1 item for the gun and it could be useless like a flashlight or tripod for a carbine. Hope this helps ^^

    November 25th, 2013 at 8:01 pm

Ive unlocked a few and havnt paid for any.
They are a good addition for getting things that you normally wouldnt get they are balanced

  27. DANNY
    December 10th, 2013 at 1:27 am

The battle pack system is really simple in reality. You level up and for every 2 levels you get a battle pack for you character, there is no set pack only random items, this continues up to max level i assume, also you receive battle packs for weapons once you reach 160 kills I think it is every 50 or so kills you will get a battle pack with items only for that weapon not for your character as a whole. Yes there is a option to buy battle packs or to buy premium if you so wished but there is nothing forcing you to do so. As far as people saying they are at a disadvantage to premium members that is a lie or you are just lacking in skill.

Hey guys battlepacks have NO advantage to combat you guys font understand what they are..they are just like unlocking attatchments in call of duty exept they come in a pack. And you cant buy them you mist unlock them unless you are premium ($50) and i understand what you think i did buy premium and recieved like 10 extra battlepacks but they gave me no advantage i only recieved like 20 attachments out of 100s so it is not like conputer free to plays how they ask you to buy extra conntent that you have no hope in buying
