Battlefield 4 Battlescreen

34

Battlefield 4 BattlescreenThe Battlefield 4 Battlescreen is a feature which allows players to use a secondary screen (such as a tablet). Battlescreen in Battlefield 4 lets players link up a tablet or smartphone and use the device as a second screen to show the mini-map, or to customize their soldier loadout, and more.

Battlefield 4 Battlescreen is a brand new feature introduced with BF4, and currently only supports PC and next gen system. Battlescreen is a web-based technology, and can run on a variety of mobile devices. PC players can also use their secondary monitor to show the minimap and stats in the game as they’re playing.

Battlefield 4 Battlescreen features

Battlescreen in Battlefield 4 is linked via Battlelog, and is tightly integrated with the service. Players can use their tablets and mobile device to change their laodouts while they’re waiting to respawn, and they can use the secondary screen as a more detailed map of the battlefield. The Commander mode can be played entirely on a tablet, instead of a PC or console, where the player has access to all the features of the Commander mode on the mobile device itself. Players can also manage their Platoons using the Battlescreen.

Device support: only smartphones and tablets running iOS and Android are supported. For more detailed Battlefield 4 Battlescreen features, such as the map overview, a tablet is required. The Commander feature can only be played on tablets as well.

When you opened Battlelog, start BF4, then, join a server and in your second screen you will see a light blue bar, with the name of the server, game mode,
map and server browser. After a while in that same bar an icon will appear called: Battlescreen, click it and it loads the minimap. Make sure you’ve downloaded the plug-ins which you can get from Battlelog itself.

This works for like a second monitor but it doesn’t appear to be that simple to do it on the phone.

Where do you get the plug-ins on battlelog for battlescreen? Is it possible to play on console and open up battlescreen on your pc?

Kevin, you wont be able to use Battlescreen with an Xbox, it is only supported on next-generation consoles and the PC. It should be available upon release of the next-gens as it is currently working for PC from what I understand. I have also heard that the Xbox One will not support the Battlescreen because Microsoft’s next-gen console is garbage (kidding about the support of Battlescreen, not about Xbox One being garbage).

Whoa whoa, someone is a mad fanboy. :P

The Xbox One is perfectly capable and runs circles around current gen. It is only slightly less powerful than the PS4

True it is only slightly less powerful, however the softwear implementation is less than spectacular; it’s less of a gaming machine and more of a home entertainment package.

Try to keep your personal opinions out of your answer. It makes them useless.

Been having the same problem. Using ipad air (battle log installed) and I always get a message that battle screen is needed. But no instructions on “How/When/Where” to get it.

The battlescreen will eventualy be supported for current gen right? Im on 360 and would love to have it but if not no biggy. I don’t see why it wouldn’t assassins creed 4 supports the equivalent of battlescreen, (ac initiates/companion app) it has the minimap there and you can set waypoints etc. I would like to see battlescreen optimized for the current gen consoles as well as next gen

So what you’re telling me EA, is that my Windows Tablet is not supported for commander mode or Battlescreen? That seems rather ridiculous seeing as I am playing battlefield 4 on an Xbox. This lack of support is inexcusable in this day and age. I mean, your teams probably wrote the programs on Windows PC’s. Please make Battlescreen and commander screen available on the Windows based PC’s.

    Hoping for your response,

Same issue that Wallace9155 posted about. Playing on PS4 and battlelog app works on my iPad and Links with my ps4 EXCEPT the battlescreen tool! I’ve trouble shooted several ways that I can think of and it still never gets past the “loading battlescreen” screen. What’s going on? How can this be fixed/resolved?
