Battlefield 4 G3A3

Battlefield 4 G3A3The Battlefield 4 G3A3 (or just G3) assault rifle is one of the most powerful weapons in the game. It’s the rifle that deals most damage of any of the Assault class weapons. The G3A3, when equipped with accessories such as a scope, it offers very long range, comparable even to semi automatic sniper rifles.

The Heckler & Koch G3 was first introduced in the 1950s, and is still in use all over the world in modernized versions. A shortened version, called G53, is also available in the game.

this should be a DMR and be 48-40 damage because it uses a sniper caliber and is used as a scout rifle in real life

Not quite so, Alex. The H&K G3 is the standard issue assault rifle in several armies around the world.

Forgive me, I’m not trying to be too in depth here, but it isn’t a assault rifle, rather a battle rifle because it does not have an intermediate cartridge. To be fair, other rifles like the M39 (pretty much an enhanced M14) and Mk11 bear similar characteristics and are in categorized as sniper rifles. But if they would include it as a sniper rifle, they would use the variant PSG1. Just my two cents

Well, its a german gun and in Germany we have no difference between battle rifles and assault rifles. So its an assault rifle in some way.

Its not an assault rifle because of its barrel length and large caliber round. Simple

I remember in BF3, I’d turn it into a sniper rifle with the Rifle Scope x6. I got the idea from Deadliest Warrior (R.I.P.) from the Back for Blood episode. The Irish IRA used it against the Russian Spetnaz’s SVD Dragonov.

Adam. Yes, it is an Assault rifle. Always was always will be. It uses the 7,62 × 51 mm NATO wich was the common caliber back in the days.

I think that you got your info from the somewhat missleading text on Wikipedia…

Technically, the G3 is a Battle Rifle.

Robert is correct. It is a battle rifle due to the cartridge it fires, which is a .308

          It isn’t a 308, a 308 is larger than a 7.62 x 51 NATO

The g3 is catergorized as a battle rifle. If you would like to argue you can look it up and make sure the sources are credible. Just because its a standard issue assault rifle, or a video game calls it an assault rifle, doesn’t make it one. The models those countries use are probably shitty because I’m sure you’re talking about the same countries that still use the original model of the ak-47

Try 5.56×45 mm NATO. Back in the day a 7.62×51 mm NATO was used for the m14 RIFLE (no assault rifles) and m60 MACHINE GUN (no assault rifles). The father bullet if you will of a 7.62×51 mm NATO is a .308 whereas the 5.56×45 mm NASO’s dad is a .223 which as you can see is much smaller. To compare size the Russian 7.62x54mmR was used in the moisin nagant RIFLE(no assault rifles).

People aren’t trying to call it an assault rifle, they’re saying if it enters the game, it should be a rifle for assault, even if it’s classified as a battle rifle, weapons which where used by soldiers in the same role as guys who use assault rifles.

The reason this weapon is not characterized as a DMR is simply because of its rate of fire (ROF).

The DMRs in BF4 are made available as such, because of their limited advantage.

To example the unfair advantage of such weapon being made available to all classes, I will draw attention to lessons learned from Socom 4.

If you take the equivalent rifle (FN-FAL) and equip your entire team, it only takes a small amount of practice and team development to determine assault tasks/positions/assignments, and you have a virtually unstoppable force.

If I could equip an entire 16 man team/faction with a G3 primary or secondary, and do some strategic training development, the game would be over for all but those who follow suit.

If it didn’t have the “triple threat” (ROF, damage, range/accuracy), they’d have placed it on the DMR list.

Is the G3A3 already in the game?

If yes, where can I get it? I didn’t see it anywhere in the reward list.

    Thank you!

The AK-47 uses a 7.62 and it is a assault rifle… one of the most common in fact. The G3 is also a assault rifle like the FN-Fal.

The 7.62 used in the ak (7.62x39mm) is not the same as the g3s (7.62x51mm). Anyway the g3 is a battle rifle as is the fal.

This weapon and the M39 should have the same hard hitting power; same ammunition for starters….

same round yes but you would be surprised how well Barrel length and twist ratio makes a difference if were talking velocity over distance which equates penetration. F.E the M39 being a longer barrel and higher twist ratio equates to a flatter pattern down range which boils down to bullet drop off which boils down to loss off energy/velocity which effects penetration and inpact zone. True ballistics could never integrate into a FPS.

Weight and recoil is the definition on this gun in real life. It feels hard and old to shoot and I´d probably miss Jabba the hut on the second round at further distances than 10-15 yards thank´s to the recoil.

Actually no. The G3A3 is supricingly accurate at full auto fire for a 308. Sure there are better ones like the 17s but the kick on the G3 in full auto is vastly exagurated, mostly by people who heard someone say that someone said… And yes compared to a 5.56 its going to be a hard jumper but its definetly controllable if correctly used. The FN FAL on the other hand has more of a kick isue.

      Yes i own a G3 rifle.
