6

Battlefield 4 M27 IARThe Battlefield 4 M27 IAR is the starter machine gun for the Support class in the US faction. The M27 IAR (Infantry Assault Rifle) is based on the M416, but carries a longer barrel, more powerful ammunition, and larger magazine. It’s a great overall Support gun that can be expanded with various accessories. The Russian counterpart to the M27 is the RPK-74M.

The Battlefield 4 M27 IAR was first featured in the series in BF3, where it was the starting weapon for the US support class. The M27 IAR — Infantry Automatic Rifle — has been in service with the US Marine Corps since 2011 as a smaller and lighter replacement for heavier machine guns such as the M249.

Battlefield 4 M27 IAR stats

Therefore, it should be the preferred gun of the two. It’s even more useful at longer ranges when equipped with a scope.

Well, neither did a fully auto m16 or m4 did either, so maybe they should add these in future dlc’s?

This list is not entirely correct… the M27 IAR, Mk 48, and MG36 are not in BF4 and the list also does not include the MG4 which IS in BF4. Hope this helps 😀

My bad, the list does include the MG4 but the starting weapon for all three factions of the support class is the U-100 Mk5, it is not faction dependent.
