Battlefield 4 machine guns

Battlefield 4 machine gunsThere are a wide variety of Battlefield 4 machine guns, all based on weapons that are in active service around the world. The Battlefield 4 machine guns are limited to the Support class in the game. Some are faction specific, while most can be unlocked and used by both teams. For example, the US faction can unlock and use guns from the Russian and Chinese factions.

Battlefield 4 machine guns list

Both factions start out with light machine guns such as the RPK-74 and M27, and later can unlock heavier guns with large capacity magazines. Like other weapons, Battlefield 4 machine guns feature individual unlocks, such as suppressors, scopes, the trusty bipod, the flash hider, a suppressor, and many more. For a compete breakdown of all the weapon specific unlocks, check out the attachments and accessories page.

Battlefield 4 machine guns tips

Battlefield 4 machine guns tipsWhile Battlefield 4 machine guns are excellent at providing suppressive fire, they’re much more versatile than that. Machine guns such as the M27 IAR are effectively large assault rifles, making them more useful in in different conditions. In BF4, the suppression effects have been increased for machine guns, which makes it even more useful to provide covering fire.

Heavy machine guns are quite accurate, which gives them a lot of range, especially when paired with a powerful scope. The Bipod is a great accessory for machine guns, as it compensates on the recoil and adds to the accuracy and range of the weapon. Keep in mind that suppression is more effective in the game when coming from a machine gun.

Battlefield 4 machine guns unlocks

Battlefield 4 machine guns unlocksLike other weapons, Battlefield 4 machine guns have their own unlocks. They range from scopes, to silencers, to bipods which can be setup up on any surface. The way to earn unlocks is to simply earn kills with the same machine gun. The more kills you have with the same gun, the more unlocks you get.

Less recoil for the larger LMGs would be great. I.e. the M240, m249, m60 etc. I can’t move with my squad and getting suppressed knocked your aim off way to much with these.

LMGs are already spammed enough as is, those things can be sooo OP when bipodded on a concealed enough spot, especially with their high rates of fire and what not. I’d actually like to see less accuracy, as the guns have irl.

I think dice is trying make lmgs better because they were not as good as assault rifles in bf3 you combine op guns with the most versatile equipment and plus yes the bipod is useful but is so easy to get flanked and the gun performance shouldn’t require attachments to be good and lmgs are not inaccurate in real life the accuracy of the gun comes with a combo of round and barrel length and velocity not how heavy it is.

Lmg inaccurate? Sir do you know what it takes to qualify with an m249 or m240B?
LMGs were terribly represented in bf3.

These people who accually never touched a rifle/LMG think they know it all cause they’ve played Arma.

And yeah, LMG’s aint accurate “irl”, but thats after 3/400 meters.

Wrong. Correct optic, someone that knows the weapon and it’s accurate out to 800-1600m.

The LMGs Herp mentioned are very accurate in real life actually, not less accurate like you think. Especially the M240bravo, the M60E (most accurate MG in US military history) and the 249. I know this because I’ve used each one myself, and the M240bravo & M249 SAW in combat as a 19 yr old machine gunner in Afghanistan through March-September.

The 240 showed me at least dozens of times that it is accurate in short bursts (aka Talking Guns) out past 1000m. The key to hitting these ong range targets in the game is walking your rounds in onto the enemy, exactly how it’s done IRL. Your first burst will of course be off, lets say the enemy is running right to left in open space on Silk Road. You’re going to fire a bit ahead of him but those rounds will land slightly behind him. He then finds cover to shoot back at you, but you have good concealment and he has to pop out to acquire you. Pay attention to where your bursts land, then ‘walk’ those rounds onto the target.

You do this, you won’t be stopped.

Less accuracy as the guns have irl? Lol u clearly don’t know what your talking about as the m240b “irl” is a very accurate machine gun and is capable of easily hitting a target effectively 600m away the stopping power of these machine guns in bf4 is not enough

I was a USMC machine gunner on the M240 for several years. I can tell you from experience that a skilled gunner can effectively put rounds on target from a bipod in excess of 500 meters. Anything inside 300 meters is going to be swiss cheese. Given a tripod mount I was able to effectively engage targets at roughly 1500 meters.

LMGs are designed to provide a significant and sustained amount of firepower, the weapons in the game are perfect when used with a bipod. one of the best situations is defending or attacking M-com stations by setting up the MG temperaraly at a position to lay down suppresive fire or cover an area. maybe even moving with a squad. they’re called SAWs for a reason. as soon as there is contact, be sure to hit the dirt or against a wall or ledge, and mow down targets. I wouldn’t consider it camping to be supporting your team in a single location.

Bf 3 represented the LMG great, If you are playing it like an assault rifle your an idiot. For those that have used machine guns in a military environment yes standing or kneeling with a 249, or a 240(no mater what variant you have even though the B is a great upgrade for the weapon with the recoil dampener in the but stock) you are not gonna hit shit but you will scare the enemy, but if you drop the bipods and dig in you can easily lay fire in a 2 foot beating zone from 800 yards if you know what your doing and have a good A-gunner.

For you trolls that think you played a few video games and know what your talking about save your breath but anyone that was a 240 gunner in the military(or at least the marine corps) this is how it is done and I think if you played it the way you should it was great in BF3, so far I dont thing they emphasized suppression enough in BF4.

If i am spraying rounds all around you I should not be able to get snipped with ease.

I agree with you about BF4 not emphasising on the suppression, hardly any at all!? The H.U.D doesn’t go as blurred as it did on BF3? Which is a shame, it’s annoying when it happens to you yeah but adds atmosphere of whats happening around you. Hopefully they will correct this with a patch along with the frequent crashes. . But the game is by far my favourite and my rant is over. Oh and the p90 is not as it once was, this is a sad day! 🙂

Tell dice that having a box magazine of 50-60 rounds for the m249 and mk48 would be a good decision for a faster reloading more versitile gun like the guns should be, on army of two it allowed me to suppress an enemy and quickly reload ready to eaither move up or suppress/ kill them

Unless you suck at ammo conservation then a 100 round mag would be better. You are about doubling the firing time at the cost of about a 5-15% longer reloading time.

I do belive that CERTAIN machineguns do need an accuracy improvement and some way to reduce recoil while still being mobile, but machineguns have a Achilles heel of getting outgunned by assault rifles (AEK, ect.) even when most of these guns kill in just 3 or 4 rounds if you aim right.

I was used to playing the assault in BC2 so when I moved over to Battlefield 3 i had to force myself to play the support class (ammo paranoia) but eventually i adapted and learned how to properly use the LMGs instead of running and gunning. Hopefully they add the ZB 26 and Aires LSW (less accurate and slower firing M27-like design with box magazine)

M60E4 is definitely the best machine gun, it shoots slow but has a minimum damage of 35 and you never have to reload because of the slow rate of fire and you can get 20+ kills per magazine

REALLY MK48!!!!!!???? Lightweight design with heavy caliber that means I can run around shooting 7.62 up the enemies asses!!!

Hope they have done there home work on weapon damage this time, as how can anyone who gets shot turn around and fire back !

The MG`S have too much recoil even with bipods

They need to stop bunny rabbit syndrome where they just run and jump to avoid getting hit,

the MGs were perfect in bf3 esp the m240b people just bitched cuse they didnt know how to use them lol i got over 1000 kills with the 240b

I disagree. A GPMG has an effective range comparable to a sniper rifle or at least a DMR. The medium range, equivalent to carbines was laughable in BF3.

I think a LMG they should really add to the game is the K.A.C. stoner, much like the LSAT it is a small light weight LMG and would make a good addition to the game, after all most of the guns that will be in BF4 we all heavily used in BF3. I think it is time for some new ones.

Just to let you guys know, it’s not the M240Bravo anymore. It’s now the M240Golf

I think if they’re going to offer LMGs that the real steel versions have adjustable gas systems to increase or decrease ROF, they should let us do it in game as well.

I also think that if you’re standing with an LMG and you’re firing DTS, then your accuracy should be absolutely horrible. I dare you to tell me that you can stand with a 27lbs weapon system including another 4-6 for accessories and ammo on the weapon, firing on full auto, and keep the weapon in control.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a way to deploy a Browning M2 .50cal. Maybe one player carries the tripod and ammo and the other carries the weapon system?

Actually, while in Iraq I had an opportunity to test out a Mk-48 from a sister unit. Using the rail system that was integrated under the barrel I put a Foregrip on the left hand rail.

That, combined with flipping up the shoulder support wire brace out of the stock allowed me to stand and fire the weapon from the shoulder while aiming down the sights. Basically turned it into a fire hose from hell.

Now, could I do that all day? Could I do it through 2-3 boxes of ammunition? Easily. If it’s a sustained fight and you are constantly laying cover fire for friendlies it’s easy enough.

The foregrip lets you keep the barrel pulled down and the wire stock braces on top of your shoulder, so all you have to fight at that point is the recoil, which is assisting in holding it up anyways as the weapon is trying to go up up up!

I understand that gamers like to run around halo style absorbing bullets like a Bradley tank but the truth is one 7.62 round is put you down and probably out so why can’t hardcore actually be realistic. Meaning any sniper rifle round above the knee is a one shot kill at any range and a double tap from any 5.56 or similar weapon does the same And the .338 on bf3 not being a one shot kill is like a sledgehammer bouncing off of a fly on a wall

MG3!! PLEEEASE MG3. I want that rate of fire and controllability. A gun that is so legendary that it was made in WWII (MG42) and it’s still better than many of todays modern MG’s.

Does this list contain some of the older weapon speculations too? Because I thought the M27 was confirmed to not be in the game. Same with the RPK-74 since all the BF4 AK platforms are based of the AK-12

you cant call out the qualities and shortcomings of a weapon from a video game. in video game weapons are not represented correctly in an effort to balance classes and weapons so that whiny bitches won’t complain about their KTD or “he killed me this sucks” ranting. in reality were it matters LMGS are a force to be reckoned with. High rates of fire, large ammounts of ammunition, stopping power, and accuracy make an LMG the perfect weapon for what it is intended (suppression of hostile forces and positions and protection of fortified locations.

I’d think the Negev and the Scar HAMR should’ve been added to BF4.

Why the negev? Because the Negev is not only used as an LMG, but can also be used as an Assault rifle. The negev is very reliable and has a RoF selector if im not mistaken.

Why the Scar HAMR? Because the HAMR wieghs only about 3 or 5 kilos (emptied) and has automatic temperature based operation. It should also come in handy if a Scar had 100 762 rounds in a single mag, right? High damage, large mags. The Scar HAMR would be a beast if it were to be added to BF4
