Battlefield 4 pistols

Battlefield 4 pistolsThe Battlefield 4 pistols are based on real world, modern firearms found in use across the world. Pistols in Battlefield 4 range from revolvers, to semi-automatic gun, to fully automatic ones as well. Some Battlefield 4 pistols are faction based, like the M9 for the US, and the MP443 for the Russian side, while most other guns are unlockable and can be used by both factions. All pistols in the game can be used by all classes.

Battlefield 4 pistols list

The pistols in Battlefield 4 are similar to the previous games, as BF4 is set in modern day. Battlefield 4 pistols range from small-arms 9mm to the heavy .44 Magnum. Pistols, like other weapons in the game, will have their own unlocks and attachments, such as silencers and flashlights.

Battlefield 4 pistols tips

Depending on the need and situation, there are a variety of Battlefield 4 pistols. The starter pistols such as the M9 and MP443 are great all-round guns, but a good step up is the M1911, which deals more damage and has better range. Since pistols aren’t used as main weapons, it’s best to equip a good all-round Battlefield 4 pistol that’s useful when you run out of ammo for your main weapon.

Keep in mind that all Battlefield 4 pistols (besides the .44 Magnum) have very limited range, so they’re only useful when your main weapon is out of ammo and in close quarters. Pistols can also be used as an alternative silenced weapon, in case you need stealth but your main weapon isn’t equipped with a silencer. it’s therefore a great idea to equip your sidearm with a silencer.

For even more range and damage, try the revolvers: the 44 Magnum and MP412 are very accurate and powerful. However, they are limited by only 6 bullets and very long reload times. In most cases, the best sidearms are the M1911 and the G17 (Glock 17), which offer great overall performance, accuracy, and range.

Battlefield 4 pistols unlocks

Battlefield 4 pistols unlocksLike other weapon groups, Battlefield 4 pistols have their own unlocks. Since pistols are different, the range of unlocks is limited to silencers, flashlights, and laser sights. In order to unlock these, players must earn kills with a particular pistol.

Some of the pistol specific unlocks include scopes, such as the Delta sight, which is exclusive to pistols. You can find a list of pistol unlocks on the attachments and accessories page.

I would hope to see the Desert Eagle in Battlefield 4. I love that gun so much and it would be nice to see it in the game.

Not gonna happen, BF never has this weapon in any of this game and I doubt they will have it now. If you want that weapon, then go back to CS or CoD

One thing they could do to make it more ‘fair’ is have it chambered in .357 Magnum. I see no issue with doing it that way.

I would rather have the Coonan 1911 in .357.

Did they take the G18 out?

The Desert Eagle isn’t practical in most situations. It’s chambered in such an unnecessarily high caliber that in close quarters it provides over-penetration and at long range it isn’t accurate enough to be considered a practical weapon. Also, too many CoD fanboys.

No, that maybe, but the G20 should be in game it also has a 6inch barrel extension for more range. The 10mm is one of the best rounds for a handgun. I personally own a G20 with the hunting barrel and a G29 Gen4 for person defense and have to say for performance (short range/distance) and combined stopping power it has it all. I am truly surprised their are not more 10mm hand guns used in more games.

Gun manufacturers only make guns that they will make a profit on since there not a high demand for the 10mm your not going to see too many of them. Then since they don’t make a lot of them there not going to put them in a game. Specially war games where there just going to take guns they see in war and put them in the game.

Well the Desert Eagle was actually a failed weapon. It was just an experiment that didn’t pass because of MASSIVE recoil. So the chances of seeing it in battlefield 4 is very unlikely.

        September 20th, 2013 at 5:36 pm

Failed? You guys have clearly never owned one there aren’t many guns around as fun as the de accuracy at 100 yards is enough to kill someone and recoil isnt a factor unless you have the hands of a 12 year old girl and with the right loads it completely ignores body armor and if carrying it fatigues you then consider testosterone shots my friend

          March 19th, 2014 at 4:46 pm

If people really shot the gun ‘not in a game’ they would know its a 2.5 kg gun and from that it really doesnt kick much and so what it only holds 7 rounds a colt 1911 only holds 7 rounds

There is never going to be a Desert Eagle in the game because it’s never been adopted by a single military or law enforcement agency. The fact is, it goes against everything that makes a handgun useful over, say, a shotgun or a submachinegun: it’s extremely heavy, it fires large caliber rounds with a very low capacity magazine, it is incredibly difficult to control, it cannot be worn easily at all, it is fatiguing to shoot, and I could go on…

      • Tom leclaire
        September 19th, 2013 at 8:49 pm

Well, I totally agree, but fatigue can also be caused from a 44 magnum too. It takes quite a lot to get used to that much recoil.

        • bg
          March 19th, 2014 at 4:53 pm

Have you ever shot a 44 mag , they really dont cause fatigue i go out to my range and shoot a box of 100 44 mag rounds no effect and even my 7 yr bother shoots it no problems and by the way im 14 im pretty shore a marine would barely care about the recoil

I know nothing about guns, but I would like to see a few more revolvers. I like stuff that’s dark and sleek. Not quite so futuristic, the way it is now. Desert Eagle sounds cool and if there is a pistol or revolver called the Hawk. The Hawk is just a wild guess. I would love to take out a developer and have a mystery gun permanently unlocked.

I never had a problem with the G-17. A little under powered but i used it quite often. Then again i played hardcore. Mostly used the Tac 45 and G-17. Didn’t care for for the G-18 though. That thing was all over the place.

  14. Mr.Fragmentation
    August 5th, 2013 at 4:14 pm

The more common pistols such as the m1911. M9 etc. should be available from the start , but at the higher levels close to the cap, there should be more “luxury pistols” or “rare ones” that are more powerful and give your eyes erections . Like a nice chrome .44 magnum with a nice engraved design around it, or a gold m1911 or a mp412 with the Russian sickle and hammer and a nice platinum casing.

    “Modern” Pistol wish list:
FN Five seveN ( actual spelling )
    Walther P99
    Jericho 941
    H&K USP-45
    Glock 23 ( .40 S&W )
    Kel-Tec PMR-30 ( .22 WMR , 30 round Mag! )
    SigSauer P range..

    • S3k5hun1
      August 20th, 2013 at 12:07 am

Why in God’s name would they put a .22 in Battlefield? It can’t even penetrate a SAPI Plate. A USP would be pointless, as none of the militaries in the game use it. A better choice would be the HK45T. The USAF and reportedly DevGru use the Glock 19, so there’s nothing wrong with that. SEALs are obviously known to use the P226 Navy so that would be a good addition.

      • 2000_328Ci
        September 3rd, 2013 at 7:08 am

You do realize that the 5.56×45 NATO is a .22, right? I mean, the “hunting” version is .223 Remington, and that extra 3/1000 of an inch is simply the difference in how a weapon’s caliber is measured in metric vs imperial (measuring from lands vs from grooves).

I am in the firearms industry, fully licensed Class III dealer and Advanced Weapons Instructor (I mostly teach CAR System; after I learned it, I knew that I couldn’t go back to any other shooting “style”, and now I teach it), and so on.

The second you think you’re “safe” because someone is coming at you with “just a .22″ is the second you sign your death wish.
For the average person, the chances of getting a single hit, much less a stop hit, in an actual FFYL scenario from the first magazine is extremely low; having more than double most high-cap handguns in a single mag is hugely advantageous, and with literally no recoil you can put a continuous stream of lead downrange and do so accurately.

          September 30th, 2013 at 9:33 am

A .223 or a 5.56 NATO uses a spitzer style bullet though. Its inherently better at penetration than a .22 WMR. Also there are a lot of factors that go into the 5.56 NATO being far superior in warfare than .22 WMR, .22 LR and cartridges. While the size might be nearly identical as far as size goes you should know that the 5.56 NATO is insanely better in a war setting such as Battlefield.

i receive answer about firearms missing in BF , they told me they take only firearms be used by Army forces …….

the Desert eagle are a handgun used in army , a couple squad steel have it in 357 mag or 44 mag … but because of the recoil of the pistol … the moving weight of the slide the 357 mag are the much used in that kind of squad . Tokarev tt33 are still in use in many Russian infantry with modern relooked …… i think BF have to had it to the firearms list . the BF4 are about same in firearms than BF3 .

Just to let all of you Desert Eagle fans, that isn’t meant to be a weapon. It was meant to be a door breaching piece of equipment. Instead of soldiers or SWAT (And other special police forces) officers lugging around a breaching shotgun, the Desert Eagle was made to shoot the locks and doorknobs off of doors. It wasn’t designed to kill a man, but yeah it can. So can a breaching charge and such.. So that’s why I say, screw the Desert Eagle.

Now uhm… Who wants the tracer gun back from BFBC2? Haha

I really wish they had an HK pistol, like the HK45, USP 45, or something along those lines. I know HK won’t give them rights to use the names, but a USP 45 would still be nice….

s&w 500 Magnam. Make it a one shot kill, but give it the worst recoil in the game, where it causes minor suppression on the shooter if fired fast.

I was very happy to see the cz-75 (almost peed my pants)! The one in the game is actually the SP-01 Tactical variant chambered in .40 s&w … you can’t beat a cz (irl)! most widely issued military and police duty handgun in the world …

    i carry a P-07 myself :)

Desert Eagle seems popular but i’d really want the Walther ppk, p99 and the H&K usp. btw why would the deagle be excluded because no military officially never used it? You guys realize there is an explosive crossbow in the previous game right?

  32. Ed
    December 26th, 2013 at 6:47 pm

I don’t think they should add a Deagle. I mean, this gun kicks like a mile so it would be impossible to hit anything on the second shot.

  33. Azeyzel
    January 4th, 2014 at 5:53 am

I’m not a big fan of the Deagle suggestion either, however I love revolvers and -in any- there are two ones in particular that I’d love to see added to the game:

The Chiappa Rhino 50DS/60DS (5″ or 6″ barrel), probably .357 or .40: The main advantage of this gun should be the moderatly high fire rate and the low recoil. The rounds are getting fired from the lowermost chamber of the cylinder wich changes the way the recoil is delivered to your arm -> your aim is more consistent and you can fire faster. Other than that the iron sights are supposed to be pretty good and the gun looks absolutely badass.

The Mateba 6 Unica, wich is a semi automatic revolver. It’s using the recoil to slide back and rotate the cylinder. This allows for single- and double-action firing. Other than that it’s firing from the lower chamber as well which is affecting the recoil. The gun comes with barrels up to 8″ long and can use .357 and .44 ammunition (which’d make it a bit op overall, I admit). A beast of a handgun.
